Artist Statement:

The curtains can speak, you know.

Who stands to gain by blocking out the light?

In these last days of summer, it is hotter and very little can survive the sun.

Memory begins to break down, like exposed film.

What is vital, what is you, is under a change as constant as the seasons.

Fall approaches and the cicadas begin to beckon your return to the river.

Become composed. Acknowledge the cycles that you are a part of.

Engage in them internally and externally.

Because, memory fails.

You have been here before.

Memory Fails.

I let go. .

Memory Fails.

How did we meet again?

For the last days of summer, I focused on the feeling of letting go. The feeling of acceptance

and knowing that it is the last time, that it is the end. And when I identified the feeling, I wanted

to embody it in space through the filtering of light and the creation of micro spaces. The imagery

however may feel more like something is lingering or unfinished. When it is the end, I

sometimes take a long last look. It occurred to me that if I take a picture it might last longer, but

with this came the crux of leaving the door open, a false ending.

Friends Foes Fucks is a homage to the doors that still sneak open.
